A field of 987 competed in the latest edition of the 888poker $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event, and the United Kingdom's "JurgenFIop" outlasted them all. The British champion sat down at the eight-handed final table third in chips and eventually found themselves heads-up against New Zealand's "QuadFisher" for the title. "JurgenFIop" got the job done and their hands on $8,984.

Day 1 of the $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event ended with only eight players in contention for the title. The $10,000 jackpot bounty was claimed by 25th place finisher "CaioCapT," who walked away with $10,381 in total, the single largest haul of this event.

The final table was a tale of two halves, with the top four players holding between 57 and 61 big blinds and the bottom four heading to battle with between 13 and 16 big blinds.

Despite sitting down at the final table fourth in chips with 57 big blinds, "BehindSpace" was the first finalist heading out of the door. First, they lost a third of their stack when their ace-queen lost to "QuadFisher"'s dominating ace-king. Their stack dwindled to 20 big blinds, which went into the middle with pocket kings on a queen-deuce-ten flop, only for those cowboys to run into and lose to the queen-deuce of "UncleSpecial."

"BarneyCooper" can consider themselves unlucky to bust in seventh. They were down to nine big blinds when they open-shoved from the cutoff with ace-nine of spades. "UncleSpecial" called from the small blind with the lowly ten-four and spiked a four on the turn. The loose call was not only rewarded by the board but also with a $3,000 mystery bounty payment.

Sixth place went to "betyarostomi," who fell at the hands of "UncleSpecial" one hand after that ten-four hand. "UncleSpecial" min-raised on the button with pocket fours and called the 12 big blind shove from "betyarostomi" made with ace-six in the small blind. The fours held, and "betyarostomi" was done and dusted.

Belarus' "RbIbolov" was the next player relieved of their stack by "UncleSpecial." "RbIbolov" open-shoved for a little under 20 big blinds from the button with king-jack, and "UncleSpecial" called from the big blind with ace-nine of clubs. Ace-high was good enough to win the pot and reduce the player count by one.

QuadFisher Finds Quads in Huge Pot

A ridiculous hand 80 minutes into the action resulted in a new chip leader and the start of "UncleSpecial"'s demise. "JurgenFIop" min-raised to 240,000 under the gun with ace-jack, "QuadFisher" three-bet all-in from the button for 1,312,690 with pocket fives, only for "UncleSpecial" to four-bet jam for 6,910,833 with ace-king. Amazingly, the original raise called all-in for more than four million chips!

A jack-queen-five flop gave "QuadFisher" the lead and put "JurgenFIop" ahead for the side pot. Another five on the turn gave "QuadFisher," ironically, quads, and an eight on the river brought an end to the madness.

The final four became three after "dgfg756rfghh" clashed with "JurgenFIop" in a battle of the blinds. "dgfg756rfghh" limped in with ace-deuce before moving all-in for 15 big blinds after "JurgenFIop" three-bet in the big blind. The big blind called and turned over pocket nines, which held on a ten-high board.

Three-handed play lasted 20 minutes, during which time "JurgenFIop" accumulated a massive chip lead. They added to their stack when they raise-called a six big blind jam from "UncleSpecial" with pocket eights and beat the at-risk player's jack-nine of spades.

"JurgenFIop" went into the heads-up battle with "QuadFisher" holding a 12,595,977 to 2,209,023 lead. The gap was too much for the short-stack to bridge, and heads-up only last a few hands. The final hand saw "JurgenFIop" move all-in with king-five, and "QuadFisher" call with ace-nine. A five on the flop won the pot and the tournament for "JurgenFIop."
